Cranbrook Eastern Edge swimmer Samantha Marshall will be representing Australia at the Pan Pacific Swimming Championships
Sam will be competing at the 2010 Pan Pacific Championships in Irvine, California, USA ( August 18 - 22 ). We are so proud of Sam; It is a huge achievement by a 17 year old to be chosen to represent Australia at the international competition of such a high level.
Pan Pacs held every four years as an alternative to the European Championships for those countries that are not allowed to participate there. Initially only countries bordering the Pacific Ocean could participate but now other non-European countries are allowed to compete too.

This year's competition is hosted by USA Swimming and many nations that are not qualified for the Europenan
Championships will be competing including Brazil, Korea, United States, New Zealand, Canada, Japan and of course Australia. The venue for the 2010 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships will be the William Woollett Jr Aquatic Center, in an outdoor eight lane 50 meter pool. All Charter Nations teams will be housed at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Irvine which is located about ten minutes from the William Woollett Aquatic Center, and five minutes from the Orange County John Wayne International Airport.
