CEE finished with the highest number of points  and won the the 2010 NSW State Open Short Course Swimming Championships pointscore competition!

For the first time ever Cranbrook Eastern Edge SC topped the State Open Short Course Swimming Championships beating some of the biggest clubs in NSW!  There were plenty of medals - gold, silver and bronze, and PB's , and for some every swim was a personal best time. Australian Open times have been achieved and there was no lack of jokes  or smiles!

This is the first time a club from the east has achieved this result. A total of 48 clubs were competing, and CEE finished on top with a total of 673 points ahead of Hunter on 592 points and Carlile Swimming Club on 557 points.  Sydney Uni, SOPAC and Macquarie Uni were next best placed.

The Team finished with 3 Gold, 6 Silver and 5 Bronze medals. There was a total of 31 Top 10 Placings.  Nicole Mee was arguably the swimmer of the meet, finished with 2 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals.

As Head Coach, Angelo Basalo, noted at the team gathering at the conclusion of the meet, " this is a spectacular achievement for a club of our size to pull off - all of us are really proud of you.  With the ever improving strenght in our younger swimmers programs, and the fact that so many of our stars this weekend are so young, we are looking good to give the Nationals a real shake next year. "

Eastern Suburbs Academy of Sport Congratulations to the swimmers and coaches with this outstanding achievement!
